Although Brittany graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 2011, it had been years since she had gone back to visit for any significant length of time. But, since Lane had traveled now, multiple times to Wichita, Kansas and San Antonio, Texas to visit Brittany, it was her turn to visit him… this was a big step for her.

 As it was, Brittany’s first trip to Utah to visit Lane lined up with a work event Lane had in beautiful Park City. So, Brittany had the opportunity to meet all of Lane’s colleagues and even help out with some corporate exercises (she is a team player, after all). When she wasn’t assisting, she had the chance to relax in the resort. Something Brittany rarely does. Lane made certain everything was perfect for her, even leaving chocolates for Brittany on her pillow.

 At the conclusion of the corporate event, Lane had the chance to have Brittany on his arm at the farewell dinner. That being said, it also gave the chance for all of Lane’s colleagues to grill Brittany and put her to their test. She held her own, however, and if you ask her, she passed with flying colors. (I don’t believe the test-givers accumulated scores, but Brittany demands excellence!)

 After the event wrapped up in Park City, Lane and Brittany traveled south so Lane could show Brittany his home—one of his prized possessions. Brittany was nothing short of impressed and loved seeing the pride Lane took in his home. She imagined herself making a home with him.

 Perhaps one of the most noteworthy events on this trip was Brittany meeting Lane’s parents. Lane set up a beautiful, romantic dinner at The Sundance Resort. Brittany was so nervous, wanting to impress the people who raised this wonderful man she now loved and adored.

 Dinner was beautiful. They had a table near the fireplace. It was cozy and warm. The conversation was heart-warming. Lane’s parents allowed Brittany to see more about what made the man she loved the way he was. Lane’s mother recalled fond memories of his childhood, telling Brittany about how impressed she was of her brave, creative, fun-loving son. This warmed Brittany’s heart.

 It was difficult for Brittany to stop smiling that night. There’s no way Lane’s parents didn’t notice… nor could they deny the way she looked at their son. Brittany was falling more in love with this man, Lane Olson, and the family who raised him.

 On a note Lane left for Brittany on this visit, Lane wrote, “I am looking forward to the future with you.”
